What we do

Mini-ROV Inspection Services

In partnership with Proceanic Engineering Services Pte. Ltd.

Mini-ROV underwater inspection

Ship inspections, particularly of hulls and tanks, are time-consuming and expensive. They necessitate taking the vessel out of service, restricting operations, and posing significant safety hazards. By using mini-ROVs to perform hull and tank inspections, we remove the need for personnel working in confined spaces, over water, or at height, thereby minimizing potential safety risks to all personnel involved.

We deploy the latest range of advanced mini-ROVs, compact, lightweight yet powerful at the same time. These qualities give them the capability to complete a variety of tasks in demanding offshore environments. Depending on your objectives, we provide a wide array of turnkey and custom-built tools and sensors.

Advantages of Proceanic Mini ROV for underwater inspection:

01  No personnel working in hazardous situations (e.g. in confined spaces, in and over water, or at height).

02  Does not require specialized support vessel during operation. Our mini-ROVs can be hand-launched from deck or a small craft, and operated by a small team of two to four man, depending on the task at hand.

03  Our mini-ROV can be fitted with a wide range of additional tools to meet specific mission requirements. Typical payload include Ultrasonic Thickness (UT) gauge, Cathodic Protection (CP) probe, water jet, sonar, Ultra-Short Base Line (USBL), pipe-tracker, and many more.

04  Live video feed is securely sent to the ROV operator safely stationed on deck, where client’s representative can directly make his own observations. In addition, all video and photographs taken by the ROV are recorded and delivered to the client upon completion.

Accreditations

Working closely with major classification societies and local authorities around the globe, Proceanic is accredited to conduct Mini-ROV underwater inspection for marine vessels and offshore facilities.

Sample applications in Marine & Offshore environment

01

Class-approved UWILD

Perform a Class-approved Underwater Inspection In-lieu of Drydocking (UWILD) without divers in the water. Proceanic ROVs have been used to satisfy the requirements for a class-approved UWILD. Through the use of state-of-the-art SONAR technology, the ROV operator can maintain positive confirmation of location even in murky waters near-shore.

02

Hull cleaning

With Proceanic ROVs, there’s no longer a need to send divers in to the water to clean seachests and other critical hull areas.  With high pressure water jets, we can safely remove marine growth without damaging the coatings below. Seachest and local cleaning can be performed as an add-on package with a UWILD, or as a separate service.

03

Visual inspection

Proceanic ROV can be used to satisfy the class requirement of General Visual Inspection (GVI) or Close Visual Inspection (CVI).  The ROV is capable of recording both standard-definition video (viewed real time) and high-definition video (viewed after the dive) so that the best assessment of the structure can be made. Quality of coatings can be evaluated, intensity of pitting can be assessed, damage can be located, and much more.

04

Ultrasonic thickness gauging

When mounted with the optional ultrasonic thickness gauge, Proceanic ROV has the capability to perform thickness survey of all internal ballast and fresh water tanks. The ROV utilizes a multi-echo underwater thickness gauge capable of measuring steel thickness through coating and up to 1mm of corrosion.  Because of this, no damage to coatings means a small operational impact to the vessel
